New Year Lunch
It has been decided
to postpone the Lunch planned for the 16th January until March -
provisionally 12th March. When the date and venue has been finalised
this will be circulated to members.
December Meeting
The December
meeting was its usual great success. members and their wives/partners
sat down to a most festive meal provided by the Chef at Denvilles. This
was followed by a most interesting talk.
Quiz Night
The Quiz night held at Denvilles House on Wednesday 16 November. Details
was a great success. As always the questions were testing and resulted
in the need for tiebreaker questions to settle the outcome between the
two leading teams.
Amberley Museum
& Heritage Centre
A good turnout was had for the visit on October 19th to Amberley Museum
& Heritage Centre. On a bright sunny day (if rather less warm
than we would have liked) a number of us enjoyed the very surprisingly .
large range of exhibits at Amberley. Movement around the large site was
made easy by the range of free transport available - train, bus and
traction engine. A most enjoyable day out.
Autumn Lunch
The Autumn Lunch at the
Millstream Bosham on October 10th was again a great success. As always
the meal was superb and all our members and their wives enjoyed a very
pleasant social occasion.
Try
Croquet
The
outings on 9th and 26th September were most pleasant and
a small number of members enjoyed "Golf Croquet" followed by a
pleasant pint in a nearby Pub.
Further opportunities
are planned for summer 2012. This will again
be at a recognised Croquet Club sited in the country
with really pleasant views over the South Downs and easy parking.
As before it will be sponsored by a very
good Probus member who is prepared to teach , instruct and generally ensure
that we have a very pleasant time.
Club Almoner
Members are
reminded that if they become aware of any member of our club who becomes
ill or incapacitated for any reason, they should please inform our
Almoner, Conrad Davies.

The Club was
founded in 1975. A list of past officers of the

The Meeting on
December 7th 2009 was our 400th meeting. A report and photographs are

News Archive Section
Waverley
A party of members
and their wives enjoyed a trip to the Jurassic Coast
on the Paddle Steamer Waverley on 15
September. The weather was extremely kind to us giving us a bright sunny
day and a most pleasant calm sea. The party, under the genial
stewardship of our sailing Master and worthy Chairman John Moore, had a
tour of the ship, its engine room and ensured that we all sampled the
cuisine as well as alcoholic refreshments available!! A great day out.
Open Day at Denvilles House
Denvilles House
Social Club, the venue for our monthly meetings, hosted an
open day on Saturday 6th August. Our Club was represented. The day
was most successful and great fun was had by all.
Mottisfont Abbey
Gardens
The trip to Montisfont Abbey, House and Gardens on Wednesday 6
July was cancelled on the day due to very bad weather. We will try
again, if not this year, certainly next year.
Summer Dinner
The Summer Dinner
was held on Monday 20 June at Hayling Island Sailing Club. All present
enjoyed an excellent meal in the usual good company.
Social Get Together
A social
get together was held at Denvilles House on Wednesday 20 April. Members
were able to
drop in and have a chat and a drink in a
relaxed atmosphere.
